General Notes: Husband - James McClelland
He was one of the early abolitionists in his community and an active worker in the cause; also an earnest advocate of temperance. In those early days before railroads, he would ride on horseback from his home in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to Harrisburg to attend abolition and temperance conventions.
He and his wife became the parents of eight children.
