General Notes: Husband - Truman Curtis

He was born in New Jersey, after his father's removal there from Connecticut. When eighteen or twenty years of age he came further west, but returned later to the central part of Pennsylvania, where he married. About the year 1800 he and his wife came to Venango County and settled in Scrub Grass township, where he invested in an abandoned farm which had been sold for taxes. He prospered in his venture, and adding more land to his original purchase, came to be the owner of about one hundred acres, and also owned another farm located between Lisbon and the Allegheny river, which was given to his son George.
