General Notes: Husband - John Wallace Cowden

He was brought up as a farmer, but as he grew to mature years his attention was turned to surveying, and he came to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where his latter days were passed as a practical surveyor, and where he died. "He was," writes a contemporary, "an unobtrusive, modest and estimable citizen, successful in his business, trustworthy in all the relations of life, and a sincere and earnest Christian."
