He was a graduate of the Thiel College, Greenville, Pennsylvania, and the Western Reserve University Medical College of Cleveland, Ohio. The degree of A. M. was conferred by Thiel College, and the Medical University gave the degree of M. D. He was engaged in practice at Greenville until his death.
