General Notes: Husband - George Alexander Albright
He was born in Mount Pleasant township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, on the old family homestead, and continued to make his home there for many years. His youth was spent in a way typical of the life of this community, amid the wholesome tasks of the farm, while his winter months were spent in acquiring a good general education at a local public school. In the year 1898 he went to Unity township, and in 1900 settled on a farm, situated about two miles west of West Newton in Rostraver township. His farm consisted of some two hundred and ninety-eight acres and was originally the old Weddill homestead. Upon it stood the old frame house built there by G. Weddill in the year 1810, which was regarded as a very fine mansion in those days with its weatherboards of black walnut, the wood hand planed. Here Mr. Albright carried on dairy farming and here he kept a very fine herd of Holstein cows, the milk of which he shipped to McKeesport. At times there were as many as eighty head of cattle in this herd.
Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Albright, ten of whom attained maturity, and nine of whom were living in 1918.
