General Notes: Husband - Parcus Copeland

He was reared in Harmony township, Forest County, Pennsylvania, and in 1855 settled in Hickory township, where he cleared and improved a farm, on which he then resided. He was in the Civil war, enlisting November 18, 1861, in Company H, Fourth Pennsylvania Cavalry; was wounded at Travillion Station, taken prisoner at Ashby Gap, and spent one month in Libby prison, when he was paroled; six months later he was exchanged, and joined his regiment at City Point, Virginia, and was honorably discharged after three years' service. He was a member of the G. A. R., and in politics was a Democrat.
