General Notes: Husband - Dr. Benjamin Gardner Wilson

His education was received at the public school primarily. After the conclusion of his studies at Clarion State Normal School, he passed a year at the Kiskiminetas School, after which he, in the year 1894, entered Princeton University. He was graduated from Princeton in 1898. After concluding the four years' course he then took a subsequent course at the University of Pennsylvania, from which he was graduated in medicine in the year 1902. Upon obtaining his degree, he entered at once upon a general practice of his profession in Clarion. While a student at the university Dr. Wilson was a popular athlete and in 1897 he was assistant manager of the Princeton University baseball team. In 1898 he was president of the Princeton Athletic Association.
Beginning the practice of his profession, Dr. Wilson became a member of the American, State, and County Medical Associations, and enjoyed a wide and growing practice and was esteemed one of the best physicians in that locality. As one of the most prominent and public-spirited men of the city, he was a member of the board of health for four years, and he held the important post of surgeon to the Pennsylvania Southern railway. Dr. Wilson was a director in the Clarion Water Company, and in addition to his professional activities he had varied business interests, principally in the gas and oil developments. In 1906 he erected a substantial business and residential property on the corner of Main street and Sixth avenue, Clarion. He was a member of the Sigma Chi at the University of Pennsylvania and of the University Cottage Club of Princeton. Also he was a member of the Princeton Club of Philadelphia, and of the Alumni Association of Western Pennsylvania. In political beliefs Dr. Wilson was a strong Republican, and he was an attendant of the Baptist church, in which he had membership.
