General Notes: Husband - James M. Douthett

His early life was spent on his father's farm. In 1874 he rented the John Crowe farm upon which he remained seventeen years and in 1891 purchased a farm in Penn Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania. He was a Republican, school director in Forward and Penn Townships, member of the road board for six years, and secretary of the board. An elder in the United Presbyterian Church, in which he was an active worker, being Sunday school superintendent and a teacher of the Bible class, and served as trustee and auditor. He was president of the Tenth Sunday School District for two years, and was a director of the Glade Mills Fire Insurance Company.
