General Notes: Husband - Adam Duffield Cooper

He and his cousin, Robert A. Cochran, went to Kentucky together in 1844, starting from Utica, PA, in a row-boat and voyaging down the Allegheny and Ohio rivers. Robert remained at Maysville, and in course of time became a leading citizen in that part of the State. Adam returned and lived for a time at Hannaville, Canal township, where he was Justice of the Peace. About 1857 he removed to the West, finally locating in the mining business at Georgetown, CO. He became a prominent and influential citizen; was a member of the convention which framed the constitution of Colorado, and afterwards a member of the Colorado Legislature. [Duffield Family, 73]
