General Notes: Husband - William H. Crock
He spent his boyhood days with his parents and in attendance at the public schools until thirteen years of age, when he began earning his own livelihood, entering the telegraph service of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, in which department he was employed until 1880. He then entered the motive power department of the railroad service as locomotive fireman, and December 3, 1885, was given an engine, after which time he represented the company in the capacity of engineer. He voted with the Democracy, and repeatedly served as judge and inspector of elections. In February, 1903, he was chosen a member of the council of Youngwood. An active and valued member of the First Reformed Church, he served as deacon. He belonged to Knights of Pythias Lodge at Youngwood; Youngwood Lodge, No. 667, I. O. O. F.; the I. O. H., at Greensburg; J. M. Guffey Division, No. 454, B. L. E.; and Greensburg Lodge, No. 511, B. P. O. E., and in his life exemplifies the beneficent spirit of these organizations.
