Dorothy P. Cook, 87, died peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2006 at Hamot Medical Center. Her residence was 44 S. Pearl St., North East. She was born on March 15, 1919 in Harborcreek, Pa., a daughter of the late Leon and Nina Whitney Prindle. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, golf, teaching and doing ceramics. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Cook; and two daughters, Patricia C. Gregory and Barbara Lawrence. She is survived by four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; dear friends, Lori and Haley Smock; and her dog, Mitize. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Wales Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 100 W. Station Square, Suite 1950, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, Pa.
