General Notes: Husband - Samuel R. Cook
He was born in in Amwell Township, near Ten-Mile village, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and in the following year was taken to Knox County, Ohio, by his parents. There his father took up government land and lived during the remainder of his life.
In 1824, Samuel R. Cook came to Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, as a student in Jefferson College and thereafter made his home in Washington County. He taught school for several years and then went into the coal business, in which he continued to be more or less interested during the whole of his active life.
