Obit: Myers, Ora Edwin
Ora Edwin Myers, aged 69 years, eight months and four days, died March 24 following an illness of only three weeks' duration. Funeral services in his honor were held in his home Saturday, March 27, 1940 with Rev. J. V. Mountain officiating. Interment followed in the Myers lot in Georgeville Cemetery.
Although the weather and roads were extremely bad, the funeral was largely attended. Ora was the son of Solomon and Catherine Jane (Weaver) Myers and one of a large family. After the deaths of his father Solomon Myers and his brother, Marion, he became the sole owner and operator of the Myers Flour mill, which was destroyed by fire in 1934, a few years before his death. After the fire he turned his entire attention to his farm labor, making a specialty of potatoes. He was one of the best of millers.

The death angel again called in our midst last week. Mrs. Ora Myers, 32, died at the home of her father C. Montgomery Criswell on Feb 18, 1906. She recently had two paralytic strokes, but was gradually recovering from them when she was taken with the grippe, which later developed into pneumonia. She possessed a kind, loving and sunny disposition. It may indeed be said of her that 'to know her was to love her'.
We believe she departed this life without ever having one enemy. She was born June 10, 1873 and married Ory Myers on November 24, 1898. She leaves a husband and a little daughter Clara Jane, aged 5. Services were held in the Georgeville M.E. Church by Rev. Thomas Pollard. Interment was at Georgeville Cemetery.
