General Notes: Husband - Elijah Cook
He was born on the old homestead at Cooksburg, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, where he was reared, obtaining his education in the common schools of the neighborhood. With his father he learned both farming and lumbering, and became quite an expert sawyer. At his marriage, he and his wife began their domestic life in Cooksburg, at Judge Cook's mill, where he engaged in the manufacture of lumber for some years. In 1884 he removed to the Leeper mills, and there made his home until moving in 1889 to a farm in Farmington township, Clarion county, known as the Peter Bartlett farm, which he placed under a high state of cultivation and improved with all the accessories and conveniences found on a model farm of the nineteenth century. In connection with agricultural pursuits he continued to be interested in the saw-mill business.
