General Notes: Husband - Joseph Hixson
He came to Westmoreland County, it is supposed, from the eastern part of Pennsylvania. He was of Scotch-Irish and German extraction, and is thought to have been a young man at the time of his coming to Westmoreland County. He purchased about one hundred acres of land in South Huntingdon township, near Smithton. He spent the remainder of his life in cultivating this farm and in carrying on the business of a distiller.
