General Notes: Husband - Dr. Americus Columbus Keepers

He was reared at Connellsville, Pennsylvania, attended the public schools, and then learned the trade of machinist in the B. and O. car shops. Growing tired of this labor, however, he began studying dentistry with Dr. William Mullen, of Dawson, Fayette County, and finished with Dr. J. Crane, of Newark, New Jersey. After a thorough examination he began practising in 1873 at Dawson; removed shortly to Berlin in the adjoining county of Somerset, thence in 1876 to Latrobe, where he continued thereafter in the practice of his chosen profession.
Dr. Keepers was elected burgess of Latrobe in 1886 on the republican ticket. He was a member of the A. Y. M. beginning in 1877, and of the Northwestern Masonic Aid Association of Chicago, Illinois, carrying in it a $3,500 life insurance policy. He was a leading member of the M. E. church.
