General Notes: Husband - David White
He served as a private soldier in Capt. John Coyll's Co. of Solesbury, Bucks Co. Assoc. in 1775, see Pa. Archives, 5th series, vol. 5, pg. 330. He was a captain in the American Revolution. He served as captain of the 8th Co, 3rd Battalion of the Cumberland Co. Militia in 1781 and 1782. See Pa. Archives, 5th series, Vol. 6, p 233 and 235. He served in other capacities in the Revolution.
From the above it would appear that he originally resided in Bucks County and that he removed from there to Cumberland County. There is evidence that he bought a farm of 106 acres at Bonny Brook and Le Tort Springs on Yellow Breeches Creek. He removed from Cumberland County to Washington County, Pennsylvania, since both he and his brother, Benjamin, received depreciation pay in that county at the same time and furthermore the progeny of David White are found in that part of Pennsylvania.
An old letter belonging to Paul H. White shows that David White served seven years in the Indian wars of the South.
