General Notes: Husband - William B. McClelland
He was reared in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He received a common school education and learned the trade of carpenter, which he followed until he was forty years old, at that time settling on the farm in Mill Creek Township, Mercer County, where he spent the remainder of his life. He made a substantial success as an agriculturist, and became prominent in the management of public affairs in his section, serving as school director, assessor and road supervisor of his township, and taking an influential part in county matters. Politically he was identified with the Democratic Party. He was an elder in the United Presbyterian Church, to which his wife and family also belonged.
He was born in Allegheny County, PA. [HVC 1890, 1019]
