near Candor, Washington Co, PA

He was born in Robinson township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and after receiving a limited education, learned the carpenter's trade, which he followed several years. After marriage, they first located near Midway, Pennsylvania, and in 1868 came to Smith township, Washington County, purchasing the farm where he afterward resided, which was one-quarter of a mile south of Bulger. He was a successful farmer; in politics he voted the Democratic ticket.
