General Notes: Husband - Hon. William A. Clark

He was born near New Haven, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and in early life went west, where he accumulated a vast fortune, principally in mining. He had large mines and factories, and owned a plantation of thirty-two thousand acres in Mexico. His contested election as United States Senator from Montana in January, 1899, is a matter of history. Mr. Clark was a Democrat politically.

His wife died in New York city, leaving four children.
