General Notes: Husband - John Cochran
The first of the Cochran name in America settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania, early in the eighteenth century. Subsequent ancestors moved to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, just before the Revolutionary War, where they settled. John Cochran is the first of the family on record, and he, a Scotch-Irish gentleman, a Presbyterian from the North of Ireland, moved to Chester County in 1745.
He came to the American colonies about 1745 and settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he married into the Sanford family, of English origin. Of their children all save one, Samuel, died without issue.
He came from Ireland to Chester County, Pennsylvania, in 1745.
