General Notes: Husband - Thomas Clingan


He was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1785, and in 1800 became a resident of Kelly township, Union County, where he remained, following agricultural pursuits. In his religious views he was a Presbyterian, and in politics was first a Whig, and, on the organization of the Republican party, he became its stanch supporter.
