General Notes: Husband - Henry Shaner

---

After marriage he and his wife began housekeeping in the vicinity of the Puckety Creek Church. Later they removed to Allegheny township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased a farm of about one hundred acres of wild land in the neighborhood of Leechburg. Here he built a house for himself and his wife out of the logs he cut down in clearing the property. To the original one hundred acres he later added eighty more, which, however, were sold at the time of his death, so only the original tract was inherited by his son, Zachariah.
He was an elder in the Evangelical Lutheran church for many years, and a conservative Republican in politics.

His remains are interred in Lone Hill cemetery where his wife sleeps beside him.
