General Notes: Husband - Tobias Mitchell

He was born in Union County, Pennsylvania, and grew up on the old homestead farm. He lived in Union County until the late forties, when he came to Clarion County, then a part of Venango County. He settled in what later became Ashland township and there purchased a farm of about one hundred acres, which he and his sons cleared and cultivated. He and his wife both died on this farm. They were the parents of sixteen children, eight of whom died in infancy.
