General Notes: Husband - John Blackburn Shepler


He acquired his education in the common schools, was reared under the parental roof, and after attaining manhood remained at home and managed the farm. Upon the death of his father he acquired the homestead, consisting of two hundred acres, which he thereafter cultivated and improved. He was a Democrat in politics.
