General Notes: Husband - William Clark
Clarksville, Mercer Co, PA
In the War of 1812, he went as a substitute for his father, who was drafted. On the 29th of November, 1812, while encamped at Mansfield, Ohio, a heavy wind blew down a large tree, which fell across the tent in which Mr. Clark's mess of six men was lying. One man was instantly killed, and all the others severely injured. Mr. Clark had nearly all his ribs upon one side broken, and carried a huge scar to the end of his life. Six others, in an adjoining tent, were more or less injured, by the top of the same tree.
