General Notes: Husband - Nicholas Ziegler

Nicholas Ziegler, who lived and died in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, is accredited by the York County Historical Society as being our great ancestor. He was born about 1710. He arrived on the Queen Elizabeth, September 16, 1738. The name frequently appears in the York County annals. His wife's name was Catharine. She is supposed to have been the daughter of John George and Catharine Sohn. This has not been verified\emdash it is probable that it is not correct. His will was probated June 3\emdash July 25, 1791.

There may be some question as to which Nicholas is the ancestor of this family, the one indicated here, or the Nicklas Zeglar who came across in 1751. The evidence seems to point to the former.
