General Notes: Husband - Henry Cooper
He was born in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania. At the age of seventeen years he began to learn the machinist trade; was with Andrew Hartupee one year, and two years with Armstrong & Andrew, in Allegheny City. He then came to Hopewell township, Beaver County, and followed farming and building until August, 1883, when the production of oil first engaged his attention. He helped to take out the first lease, and lent his energy to the new enterprise. He was a member of the Raccoon Oil Company.
