General Notes: Husband - John Aggers
Allegheny Co, PA
When he was seven years old his father died, and he went to live with Joseph Phillips, of Snowden township, Allegheny County, who shortly after moved to Washington County, where John lived seven years, and received most of his schooling. Returning to Snowden township, he lived with Mr. Joseph Miller, attended school one winter, and worked on the farm the following year. When nineteen he went to the oil regions of Pennsylvania, remained sixteen years, and was concerned in the Pithole excitement, where he lost between five and six thousand dollars. He also struck a dry hole on the Story farm, near Martinsburg, but met with success on the Blaney farm.
