General Notes: Husband - Robert S. Cooley
He went to Hanover township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, from Pittsburgh, where he had followed the blacksmithing trade. He was married there and then came to Beaver County shortly afterward, where they had a farm of 160 acres. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church of which Mr. Cooley was an elder. In politics he was a Republican. He had a family of nine children.
He was a blacksmith by trade, and worked near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for some time, then moved to Hanover township, Beaver County, locating about two and a half miles east of Frankfort. He worked at his trade there, and afterward turned his attention to farming, following that pursuit the remainder of his active life.
