General Notes: Husband - Marven Christy
About the year 1800, two brothers, named Thomas and Marven Christy, came from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and settled upon the "Eight Tracts," or the locality later known as Portersville, in Butler County. In 1840, Marven Christy, Sr., sold out his interests near Portersville and located on an unimproved five-hundred-acre tract in the township of Washington, later occupied chiefly by his sons Thomas T. and Marven G. Christy.
