General Notes: Husband - Dunbar Christy
Cherry Twp, Butler Co, PA
He served in the War of 1812.
He was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and was six years old when his parents settled in Cherry township, Butler County. There he grew to manhood, and purchased a tract of 400 acres in Clay township, his farm being where James Porter later resided. In 1837 he sold the original farm and purchased the property where Mrs. Elizabeth Christy would later reside, consisting of 200 acres. He died on this farm. He was a member of the Associate Reformed church in early life, and one of the original members of West Sunbury United Presbyterian church, being one of the first elders in that society. In politics, he was first a Whig, and afterwards a Republican, and took an active interest in public affairs.
