General Notes: Husband - William E. Fasnacht
He attended the public schools of Lebanon and Altoona, Pennsylvania, and was graduated from Zeth Business College, Altoona, in 1915. He began his business career as a salesman for the Gibbony Baking Company, with territory in western Pennsylvania. When the United States entered the World War he enlisted in the fall of 1917 and was sent to Camp Greenleaf, Georgia. He was assigned to the Fifty-sixth Medical Detachment of the Seventy-ninth Division and served in France with this unit. He was gassed during the Argonne offensive. When he left the hospital he was attached to the Stars and Stripes paper as a field clerk. He was discharged in May, 1919. He then entered the newspaper business and was managing editor of the Twin City Labor News Company of Oil City, Pennsylvania. In 1920 Mr. Fasnacht went to Butler and founded the Tri County News, which he later sold, after which time he was its business manager.
Mr. Fasnacht was prominently identified with the Democratic party and was nominee to the General Assembly from Butler County. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 117. Mr. and Mrs. Fasnacht were members of the Presbyterian Church.
