General Notes: Husband - Wesley W. Cathcart

Knox Twp, Clearfield Co, PA - a farmer

He attended the Turkey Hill school in Knox township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, in his youth and afterward turned his attention to lumbering and farming. He lived at home until his marriage and for seven months afterward and then came to his own farm, which was a part of the old homestead, his father at one time having owned 600 acres of land. Mr. Cathcart had fifty acres of his land cleared and under cultivation and erected substantial buildings. He also had a mill on the place and did his own grinding and custom work for the neighborhood. He was a stockholder in the Knox Mutual Telephone Company.
He and his family were members of the Methodist Episcopal church at Turkey Hill. He was identified with Lawrence Grange, in which he took much interest, and belonged also to the P. O. S. of A. and the P. O. of A., at Olanta, as did his wife and two of their sons, J. C. and Lewis G. In politics he was a prominent Republican and is chairman of the Knox Township Central Committee.
