General Notes: Husband - William Connely, Jr.
He was a brother-in-law to John Evans, learned the printing trade under him and seems to have published the Herald, or at least conducted it, immediately prior to its final suspension. He was a young man of versatile accomplishments, but found life in the quiet country town irksome and left to embark on a whaling voyage. Subsequently he published a paper at Cape Colony, South Africa, and was residing there at the time of his death. [HCB, 244]
