General Notes: Husband - Dr. John Colhoun

He was the first physician that settled at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. In the Revolution he was an earnest patriot; he was a member of the Cumberland County Committee of Observation, in 1774, and a delegate to the Carpenters' Hall Convention of 1776. Dr. Colhoun lived at the north-east corner of Main and King streets. At the time of his death he was engaged in building a fine stone mansion north of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, that was for many years the home of his widow, and in which Col. Benjamin Chambers died while on a visit to his daughter.
