General Notes: Husband - William Cauffield

He came to America from Ireland at an early date on a sailing vessel, and settled in Fairfield township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer and also a miller.
He was a staunch Republican, and held a number of local offices, including that of school director, tax collector, etc. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church of Fairfield
township. He died at the advanced age of eighty-four; he long survived his wife.
