Civil War: In 1861 he enlisted in Co., D. 72d Reg., Vol., and was in the following battles: Seige of Yorktown, Hanover Court House, Mechanicsville, Gaines' Mill, Malvern Hill, Second Bull Run, Fredricksburg, Chancellorville, Gettysburg. At the latter place he was wounded and lost an arm.
