General Notes: Husband - Joseph G. Russell

He was born in Frederick County, Maryland, and on removing to Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, in 1839 took up his residence in Penn township, where he purchased land and followed farming. He also built a tannery, and carried on that business for a number of years; but in course of time he abandoned that industry and gave his entire attention to agricultural pursuits.
During the Civil War he enlisted, in 1863, in Company K, 149th P. V. I., and after his return followed farming in Penn township until the spring of 1869, when he removed with his family to North Carolina. In the autumn of 1872 he returned to Clearfield County, where he continued until 1879, in which year he made his residence in Stark County, Ohio.
