General Notes: Husband - Milton S. McKenzie
He attended public school in Franklin, Pennsylvania, regularly up to the age of eleven years. He then began to assist in his own support, finding work in a brickyard, where he was employed until fifteen years old, after which he learned the trade of blacksmith. He continued to follow that business for a quarter of a century, giving it up eventually to take a position with the Galena-Signal Oil Company at Franklin, as pumper and filler.
His fellow citizens of the Third ward showed their faith in his ability and trustworthiness by electing him to represent them in the city council, of which he was a member for two terms.
Mr. McKenzie was well known in Odd Fellowship, being a prominent member of Venango Lodge, No. 255, of Franklin, of which he was a past grand, and he was also a past chief patriarch of Venango Encampment, No. 150, and a retired captain of Camp No. 36, Patriarchs Militant. For several years he acted as degree master, and he was a past district deputy grand master. His religious connection was with the Presbyterian Church.
