He graduated from Jefferson College in 1848, licensed in June, 1855, ordained in November, 1856. He was pastor at Buffalo and Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, until 1869; later pastor and professor of homiletics and pastoral theology in the seminary of the United Presbyterian Church, at Xenia, Ohio.
