General Notes: Husband - Mathew Campbell
He was a blacksmith by trade and on account of his making pikes for the Irish soldiers was forced to leave Ireland. He came to America about 1817, accompanied by his wife and three children. They landed in Baltimore, Maryland, from which city they came overland to Pennsylvania and located at Castle Shannon, where he had a blacksmith shop on the National pike road and there remained some time. He then went to work for M. Lorenzo, at what later became the West End of Pittsburgh. There he had charge of the shops for some years, when he settled on a farm in Crafton, Pennsylvania, where he died, aged fifty-seven years.
