General Notes: Husband - Thomas Clemons

He was born in Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania. When a boy he removed to Meadville, Crawford County, and from there came to Warren, in 1829. In early times he published the Democratic paper there, and later he was interested in the Ledger. He was always an active partisan in politics, and was for a long time connected with public affairs in the county, having been elected county treasurer once (in 1839) and prothonotary twice (between 1849 and 1855), besides serving as assistant or deputy to others for many years.
