General Notes: Husband - Dr. Thomas M. Maxwell, M.D.
His education was acquired in the public schools of his native town, in Grove City College, in which his course was uncompleted, and from which he entered the University of Pittsburgh. He was graduated from this institution in the class of 1903 with the degree of Doctor of Medicine. In 1903 he settled in Butler, Pennsylvania, for the general practice of medicine. Dr. Maxwell was a member of the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania State Medical Society, and the Butler County Medical Society, and built up a very substantial practice in Butler and vicinity. He was a Republican in politics, and served as a member of the Butler School Board for fourteen years. He was chairman of the executive committee that had charge of the building of the new Butler County Memorial Hospital. During the World War, Dr. Maxwell served in the Liberty Bond drives. He was a member of the Board of Commerce of Butler, and of the local Rotary Club, and belonged to the Second Presbyterian Church of Butler.
