General Notes: Husband - John Carmichael
He gained his education mostly at home. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and engaged in clearing up the land on which his father had settled. He supported the Democratic party and held several township offices.
He and his wife had ten children. [HMC 1888, 1073] Only eight are there listed.
He served in the War of 1812, and was at Erie during the fighting between the American and British fleets, which ended in Commodore Perry's famous victory.
