Mrs. E. Carlin, Graff Street Resident, Dies
Mrs. Ethel M. Carlin, 63, well known resident of 21 Graff Street and a retired employe of the Welsh Radio Shop here, died at 8:55 a. m. yesterday in the local hospital following an illness of four months.
Born May 14, 1899 in East Hickory, she was a daughter of Myrtle Lusher Shriver Payne and the late Clyde Shriver.
A resident of this community most of her life, Mrs. Carlin was educated in the local schools.
For 20 years, she was employed by the Welsh Radio Shop, retiring in June of this year.
She was united in marriage to Clair Carlin in 1931. Her husband died in 1946.
Mrs. Carlin was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was an active worker in church affairs.
Besides her mother, Mrs. Carlin is survived by one daughter and three sons: Mrs. Arden Wright of Guys Mills; Charles Carlin and Edward Carlin of Sharon; and Robert Carlin of Winter Park, Fla. A daughter, Mrs. Betty Lowe died in 1957.
Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Margaret Gabler of Youngstown, and 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call any time after 7 p. m. Saturday in the Hutchinson and Morton Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Russell Lewis, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will be made in Grove Hill Cemetery.
