General Notes: Husband - James H. Weaver
He was born in Union County, Pennsylvania, and came to Bell township, Clearfield County, when ten years of age. He became a farmer and earlier was a pilot lumberman and took rafts down the river. He died at the age of eighty-eight years and three months, leaving an estate of 100 acres.
He was born in Union County, Pennsylvania. When he was ten years old he accompanied his parents to Clearfield County and there obtained a district school education, according to opportunities offered at that time, and afterward engaged in farming and lumbering. In 1888 he moved to Burnside and resided there until his death.
He was about ten years of age when he accompanied the family to Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, and his early life was spent in assisting his father in clearing and cultivating the home farm, and in attending the district schools. When from twenty-one to twenty-three years of age he was engaged in teaching for two terms. In conection with farming he followed lumbering more or less for sixty years piloting rafts down the river for himself and others. After his marriage he purchased a tract of one hundred acres of land, only slightly improved, in Burnside township, and there made his home. He sold the farm, which he had cleared and improved with excellent buildings, and moved to the village of Burnside in 1888. Besides his own comfortable residence in Burnside, he had two other residences which he rented.
For years he was a Republican in politics, but later supported the men and measures of the Prohibition party.
He was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church. [CBRCP-CCJC, 603]
