General Notes: Husband - McAllister Kuhn


He was born in Allegheny township, Butler County, PA, and was reared in that township and on the homestead in Concord township. On August 9, 1862, he enlisted in Company G, One Hundred and Thirty-seventh Pennsylvania Volun­teers, and served in the battles of South Mountain, Antietam, Chancellorsville, etc., and was honorably discharged at the expiration of his term of enlistment. After the war he married and took up his residence on a farm. He was the owner of 200 acres of well improved land, and became one of the leading farmers of his township. The family was connected with Concord Presby­terian church, and in politics, he was a stanch Republican.
