General Notes: Husband - Samuel Stewart Campbell

He secured his education in the public schools of Cross Creek township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and was reared on the home farm. He continued to devote his attention to agricultural pursuits until the advent of the railroad through his locality, when he platted his farm into building lots, the greater part of which he sold. Mr. Campbell helped to organize the Lincoln National Bank of Avella and in 1915 became president of that institution, which became one of the strong and influential banks of that part of the county. He was also a one-fourth owner and president of the Avella Lumber & Supply Company, and proprietor of the Avella theater. Politically, Mr. Campbell gave his earnest support to the Republican party and served one term as township supervisor. Fraternally, he was a member of Avella Lodge, No. 1190, I. O. O. F., while his religious connection was with the Presbyterian church, of which he was a liberal supporter.
