General Notes: Husband - James Stewart
He grew to manhood on the old home farm, where he spent his entire life.
He was not an active politician, nevertheless he held various local public offices of trust; a member of the Presbyterian Church, he was an elder in same, as were also nearly all the older members of the Stewart family. He was a prominent man in his township, and took an active interest in all local matters tending to the advancement and welfare of the community.
